On 9 October 1967, in the evening in Wan Tau Hom, mid-north Kowloon, a man threw two bombs at police investigating a suspicious object on the main road. One exploded mid-air, injuring three passers-by, including 11-year-old Ho Hoi-ying. The second bomb detonated prematurely, killing the man himself.
