On 9 October 1990, Lady Lydia Dunn was introduced as Baroness Dunn of Hong Kong Island and of Knightsbridge in a 9-minute ceremony to the House of Lords at the Palace of Westminster. She was the first ethnic Chinese Hongkonger elevated to the British peerage.
