On 9 October 1998, in the West Bank, 19-year-old Israeli soldier Michal Adato was stabbed to death by a Palestinian at a bus stop in the Tomer settlement. The attack followed the death of 21-year-old Amjad al-Natshe, shot in the head with a rubber bullet by Israeli troops during protests in Hebron the previous day.
