At about 8:00 am on January 6, 1971, several burglars tried to break into the unit on the first floor of No. 34 Lockhart Road. South Asian resident Lawrence Singh heard someone prying at the door with a hard object and shouted to stop. The thieves fled immediately. Singh and his son followed downstairs and fought with the thief at the gate of the building. During the conflict, Singh was stabbed three times and was seriously injured, but he continued to chase the thieves along Lockhart Road to Arsenal Street where he fell at the gas station. A policewoman joined in the chase, but the thieves succeeded to run away. The injured was sent to the hospital for treatment.

1971年1月6日約上午八時，數名匪徒試圖撬門進入駱克道34號二樓單位盜竊，南亞裔住客羅蘭士星在室內聽到有人以硬物撬門聲音，隨即高聲喝止，賊人見事敗隨即逃走，羅蘭士與其子尾隨下樓，就在大廈門口跟賊人糾纏起來，混亂中羅遭匪徒連刺三刀身受重傷，但仍繼續追賊，沿駱克道跑至軍器廠街汽油站倒下，中途雖有女警加入追截，然而賊人仍逃去無蹤，傷者則送院救治。
