On January 23, 1971, at about 11 a.m., the owner of Ying Fat Loong, Mak Tuen in Western and his accountant Lo came out of the shop on the way to a bank. When they were about to board a taxi at No. 19 Connaught Road West, they were attacked by two robbers who threw pepper at their eyes, and Mr. Lo was struck on the head before they snatched his briefcase.  There were $8,000 in cash and 34 cheques worth $60,000 in the briefcase. The thieves escaped immediately. The injured called the police after the incident and were sent to the hospital for treatment.

1971年1月23日上午十一時許,上環英發隆火水的店東麥端和他的羅姓伙計從店舖出來,要往銀行存款,在干諾道西19號準備上的士時,遭兩名劫匪襲擊,迎面撒上胡椒粉,羅更被賊人㧜頭和箍頸,搶去其手持的公事包。公事包內有八千元現金和34張面額總值六萬元的支票,賊人即時逃脫,傷者事後報警,被送院救治。
