At about 3 o'clock in the morning on July 1, 1972, at No. 441 Shanghai Street, two thieves broke into the Pak Tai Herbal Medicine Store from the back door. Night-watching shop owner Tsang Chiu-kam and employee Yau Hoi were awakened by the noise. Tsang resisted but was assaulted by the thieves and almost lost his little finger. The thieves eventually robbed ginseng worth about $7,000, watches worth about $450 from the two victims, and hundreds of dollars in cash from the store.

1972年7月1日凌晨三時許，於上海街441號有兩名賊人撬毀百大藥材店後門進入店內行劫。當時有東主曾超鑑和店員邱海留守，在睡夢中驚醒，店東反抗而遭賊人斬傷手部，尾指幾乎脫落。賊人最終劫去約值七千元的參茸和兩個事主共值約四百五十元的手錶，與及店內現金數百元。
