On August 31, 1972, around 8 pm, 64-year-old Li Wah-sang was on his way to visit his son on the third floor of No. 454 Castle Peak Road, Sham Shui Po. He used the public toilet on Shun Ning Road near Cheung Wah Street but was robbed by a man with a knife in an ambush. Li resisted and was stabbed in the stomach and back. The thief fled, and he tried to walk to his son. He fell in front of the building where his son lived. A neighbour who knew him notified his son upstairs. Although the police were called immediately, he died on the way to the hospital.

1972年8月31日 晚上八時許，64歲的李華生正前往深水埗青山道454號三樓探望兒子，順路使用順寧道近昌華街的公廁，卻遭埋伏的持刀賊人行劫，混亂中李腹背中刀，負傷走到兒子居住的樓前倒下，相識的鄰居代為通知樓上的兒子，雖即時報警，但送醫院途中已經不治。
