Developed as part of a
greater presentation of independent project Mutating Organization/
Organizing Mutation for the Guangzhou Triennial 2008, A Dialogue on Ambience and Biennales by
Roger McDonald and Lee Weng Choy was meant to be a container
for the textual exchange between Tokyo-based curator McDonald and
Singapore-based writer Lee to address the context of the exhibition and
issues of institutional/individual artistic practices that the project
suggested. A wooden structure in form of a non-functional staircase
leading to the ceiling also deals with the idea of instability and
uncertainty.
